Articulate Storyline Tutorial – Automatically Add Custom JavaScript to Published Courses for Cool Custom Interactivity

JavaScript is the most powerful programming language in the world, and everyone can run it on pretty much every server in every environment. With Rapid authoring tools like Storyline and some JavaScript know-how, the possibilities are endless.

The problem is, every time you publish a course in Articulate Storyline, all of the published files are deleted, and rewritten. This causes you to manually copy/paste files into your published folder (including custom JavaScript), and manually add custom scripts to the published output HTML files. This is tedious, and can greatly slow-down iteration on a project.

In this tutorial video, I propose a workaround, and provide a little “JS” plugin/setup that you can use in Storyline to increase the speed with which you implement JavaScript within your Storyline courses.
